Yesterday was Sunday and I decided after I was finished doing Eliza's hair to spray some hairspray on it so that her whispies wouldn't be so bad. She doesn't let me do this very often but I assured her that I would be careful. She praised me for not getting it in her eyes. (Yay for mom!)
A few minutes later she came up to me and said, pointing to the part that I had sprayed: "Mom, feel this. I think I got some chocolate milk in my hair. We need to wash it." I know that she didn't get chocolate milk in her hair...she was just feeling the crusties from the hair spray. It is just so funny that she thought up of that reasoning. I am always blown away at how kids think! :)
The other yummy things are PEACHES and PEARS. I bought two boxes of each. I think that turns out to be a bushel of each...and have canned them with a friend from the ward. She rates herself as just experienced but is an expert in my mind. I had a lot of fun working with her and we got to know each other a little bit better. I am so grateful to be learning this art with so much locally grown fruit. The expensive stuff is still cheaper than the cheap fruit in Indiana. I am excited to have fruit later on this winter to enjoy.
And one more yummy thing that I did on Saturday was finally use the vinyl lettering that Sarah gave me 3 years ago to make a family home evening chart. Now the kids are excited to help out with their part on FHE. I like it because it is me and not like any other chart that I have seen.
