It's about TIME

It's about time that we started blogging! Hopefuly we will always make the time to create something that our families and friends can enjoy.

Eastertime was great. Grandma Bedke provided the clothing...we provided the kids! The Easter bunny didn't show up, but I hope that we never really start that tradition. Our children will never know any difference...unless they start talking to their friends. But since Brendan and Eliza don't talk right now I think that we have bought ourselves a few years.

Brendan has really enjoyed his little sister. He has been a great big brother, always giving her kisses and making sure that mom responds to every little noise that she makes. He is starting to say a few words. His favorites are "car," "da-da" (used for both mom and dad) and "euh." He says "euh" the most. We think that it means everything else that he doesn't know how to say. Uncle Andrew says he sounds like a dog barking. Last night he surprised us both by putting together his barnyard puzzle all by himself. He is growing up so fast and we are enjoying every minute of it...especially the times that he falls asleep for just a little bit so that mom can breath!

The weather is finally warming up a bit so that we can go to the park and play. The picture here was from when Grandma Erickson was here at the beginning of this month. I was determined that we were going to go to the park and have a good time at that! Brendan hated getting in the car and then driving over there. He hasn't learned what "park" means yet. Once we got there, he enjoyed himself. He has conquered the kiddie slide but is still a little timid when it comes to the swing. It was actually a FHE activity (minus Neil because he was trying to finish up the yards--he is such a good husband) Eliza screamed the whole time, but we were trying to keep her awake during the hours of 6pm to 10pm so that she would maybe sleep during the night a little bit better. Hopefully the screaming children aren't a preview of future Family Home Evenings!

Being parents of two...WOW! It sure does keep us busy

(and mom up in the middle of the night), but we are enjoying it and they are worth it. I just keep on thinking that they aren't little for very long so I better take advantage of how cute they really are! I was at a party the other day and a lady said something that I think is so true--"the days may seem long, the years very short!" I find myself trying to enjoy and maybe just make it through some of these long days. My sister Lindi called me for advice on mothering two as she is due with #2 soon. I just told her, "Take it one day at a time...no-12 hours at time-12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night."
